How to set up Prayer Lock

What is Prayer Lock?

Prayer Lock is a feature of the Bible Widget app for iPhone. You choose the apps that distract you, and each day they stay locked until you pray in the app: read today's verse, pray a short written prayer, take a 20-second quiet moment and say Amen. Then your apps open until midnight.

How does the prayer lock app block apps?

It uses Apple's Screen Time. You pick apps with Apple's own app picker, and iOS shows a “Pray to unlock” screen when you open one of them. Bible Widget never sees which apps you use, and nothing about your app use leaves your iPhone.

Can I turn Prayer Lock off or unlock without praying?

Yes, always. Turn it off anytime in Settings → Prayer Lock, or tap “Unlock without praying” on a day you need to. Your apps then open until midnight.

Is Prayer Lock free?

Prayer Lock is part of Bible Widget Premium, which you can try free for 3 days. If Premium ends, Prayer Lock turns off and your apps unlock. The daily prayer screen itself is free.

When do my apps lock again?

At midnight. Each new day starts locked, so your first attention goes to God before your feed.

Which iPhones support Prayer Lock?
